This policy explains what information nicksomers.com collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. The short version: I only collect what you choose to send me through the contact form, plus anonymous visit statistics, and I never sell or rent your information.
Contact form
When you use the contact form, you send me your name, email address, the topic you choose and your message. That information is emailed to me so I can reply to you. It isn't stored in a database on this site, it isn't added to any mailing list, and it isn't shared with anyone else unless the law requires it.
Spam protection
The contact form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA v3, which checks in the background that messages come from real people. To do that, Google may collect information such as your IP address and how you interact with the page. Use of reCAPTCHA is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use it: which pages are viewed, how long people stay, roughly where visits come from (city or region level), what kind of device and browser are used, and how people found the site. Google Analytics uses cookies to do this. The data is used only to improve the site and is not used to identify you personally. You can block these cookies in your browser settings or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Videos, fonts and other sites
Campaign videos are played through YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, which loads YouTube only when you press play. Fonts are provided by Google Fonts. Posters and set photos are hosted on this site.
This site links to other websites, such as IMDb, social media, news outlets, Nvisionate Studios and the search and rescue teams I serve with. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and I'm not responsible for how they handle your information.
Children's privacy
This site is not directed to children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices
If you've contacted me and would like me to delete your message or any information you've sent, just ask using the contact form or email contact@nicksomers.com, and I'll take care of it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
